 HOW TO UPGRADE AND DOWNGRADE MIKROTIK ROUTER

LEARNING OBJECTIVES :

TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO UPGRADE

AND DOWNGRADE ROUTER IN MIKROTIK

UPGRADE AND DOWNGRADE STEPS:

A.DOWNGRADE

1. First we create a topology like this in pnetlab 

2. We enter the router and we check the system package.

After we check the system, you will see that the version is still 6.49.18, now we change it to version 6.49.15 by downgrading. 

3. Now we type ip dhcp print to check the IP address that will be used in Winbox to downgrade version 6.49.18.

4. Now we go into Winbox to enter the IP.

If you have clicked the connect button to do the downgrade

5. After this we select system and packages 

-Then we go to the files section 

-Then we click upload 

-After this we enter the file to downgrade 

(this file is downloaded from mikrotik.com)

-After uploading, click X 

- Then go back into packages to start the downgrade. 

-you click downgrade and we wait because the reboot takes quite a long time.

If the version has changed to 6.49.15, it means the downgrade has been successful. 

B. UPGRADE 

#Now we upgrade from version 6.49.16 to 6.49.18 

1. We open the package menu again, then we click check for updates. 

- After that we will enter this menu then we click download and install to start the upgrade. 

- After that we wait for a fairly long reboot, now we check in Winbox and Pnetlab. 

-after the version changes to 6.49.18 it means the update was successful.
